Welcome to Storyboon

Storyboon is operated by Sahtu Press (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using Storyboon, you agree to these Terms of Use. Storyboon is a plain-text editor for screenplays and comic scripts.

1. Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use Storyboon. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian to create an account. This age requirement is set to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws.

2. Your Account

Storyboon accounts are free. You sign in with your email address and a 6-digit code; there are no passwords. An account unlocks saving your scripts, exporting them, and returning to them later. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, since it is how you sign in.

You may delete your account at any time from your profile. Deletion is permanent and removes your account and your scripts from our systems.

3. Your Writing Is Yours

Every script you write on Storyboon belongs to you. Your scripts are stored as plain text, and you can download them at any time as standard files (Fountain for screenplays, Markdown for comics). Storyboon does not claim any ownership of, or license to, your writing beyond what is needed to store it and display it back to you.

Storyboon does not write for you and does not alter your words. What you type is what is saved.

4. Private by Default, Public by Choice

New scripts are private. Only you can see them. You may make a script public from its page, which lets anyone with the link read it. You can switch a script back to private at any time. You are responsible for what you choose to publish.

5. Acceptable Use

Do not use Storyboon to store or publish content that is unlawful, infringes someone else’s rights, or harasses others. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, access other writers’ private scripts, or create accounts by automated means. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.

6. The Service

Storyboon is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep the service available and your scripts safe, and we encourage you to export copies of your work regularly, since the plain-text files are yours to keep. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sahtu Press is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

7. Changes

We may update features or modify parts of the service. We may also update these terms; if a change meaningfully affects your rights or your stored content, we will provide reasonable notice.
